I learned to ski and grew up skiing at Temple Mtn. My sister and I skied circles around and around it, getting a lot of ski miles in at a very early age. I raced on my high school's ski team, and then for a few years at Plymouth State. As a teenager and young adult, I instructed little kids, and from there became a race coach. In my adulthood, I participate in adult race league with my family-based team. I love skiing the gnarly stuff. I love skiing fast. Skiing fast in the woods and through the bumps, and skiing off cliff terrain. My favorite places to ski are Cannon, Squaw Valley and Alta. Spring skiing is my favorite time to ski. When not going for the adrenaline rush I get from skiing, I SUP, hike, cycle, and swim. Recently, I added certified SCUBA diver to my repertoire

I'm a 17 year old senior at Souhegan High School.  Skiing is my favorite thing in the world, and I've been racing at Crotched my whole life.  I raced USSA for 9 years and have been racing on my high school team for 4. I love playing soccer, hiking and coaching kids to be the best athletes they can be.

I grew up skiing and racing at Temple and Crotched until the mountain closed in the late 80’s.  After moving to Keene for college I discovered my love of free skiing spending the next 15 years in the trees of Vermont.  I also worked two winters for Ski Dreams, a company that guided corporate outings at resorts throughout North America.

Outside of skiing I played and coached rugby for over 20 years. For the past 5 years I’ve refereed rugby at the collegiate and senior club level.  I also coached youth soccer and enjoy, hiking, mountain biking and camping with my family.

I love skiing out west and Alta is one of my favorites; however, growing up a Crotched racer and now being the father of a two young ski racers some of my best days on snow have been right here at Crotched Mtn.

I started skiing at the age of 20.  Seven years later in 1994 I taught skiing for one season at Mt. Snow.   That was followed by 13 years of teaching at Okemo where I attained by Level 3/Full PSIA certification.  After leaving Okemo, I taught at Jay Peak for 9 years.     In addition to my Full PSIA certification, I have taken course work and passed the test for USSA 100 certification.

Besides skiing, I enjoy cycling, playing soccer, lifting weights, working on house projects, hiking, and exploring all the cool places New England has to offer.  In my youth I was active in many sports including wrestling, football, volleyball and mountain biking.

My son is Connor is a first year U16 and  a freshmen and Hollis-Brookline High.

I have been either skiing, ski racing or coaching for 60 years.  I started skiing in 1955 at the age of 3.  As a youth, I was in

the club program at Pico Peak and competed into the J1 years becoming a Class A racer and the first seed in slalom on

the Vermont State team to the Eastern Championships.  Some trees got in the way of Nationals so I competed in the

Senior Eastern Championships at age 17, taking a top ten (7th) in SL.  In 1970, I received an athletic scholarship to Fort

Lewis College in Colorado, a top NCAA school back in the day.  On active duty in Germany I raced for a German ski club in

Mens Klasse 1, getting several podiums in those races; when not doing that I was teaching skiing to GI’s and embassy

workers and their families.  After returning to the USA I raced some pro and other race series.  Returning to college I got

one year of eligibility for racing at Vermont Tech.  We won the National Championship in 1980, myself getting All-

American in SL and GS.  I then coached that Alpine team for two years.  I intermittently ran Masters and other benefit

races, returning to ski racing professionally in 2005 as a coach when Deb Flanders at Pats Peak gave me a shot at

returning as a J1-J2 coach and there I took the rust off.  I have been coaching at Crotched Mountain since 2006.
